The curriculum is both broad and balanced. Children are organised into single age year group classes from Reception to Year 6. Our aim is to foster enjoyment of learning with high expectations of the children.
In Religious Education a programme of work entitled ‘Come and See' prepared by the Liverpool Archdiocese is used, and this extends to all classes throughout the school.
The children work through a series of interesting and attractive activities based upon themes which include – Family, World, Loving, Giving, which are based upon the Gospels, and are linked to the great events in the Church’s year – Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost and Advent.
During their time in school you will be invited to enrol your children on the Parish Sacramental Programmes for Eucharist (First Holy Communion), Reconciliation (Confession) and Confirmation. Much of the preparation for these takes place outside normal school time and involves close partnership between parish, school and parents.
In Key Stage 1 we use the 'Letters and Sounds' phonics scheme supported with various reading material including 'Oxford Reading Tree' and 'Dandelion Readers'.
Further information regarding our school curriculum can be found in our policies, school brochure, newsletters, at our Open Day and at parent/teacher consultations.
